Listed Buildings

At NJG Designs I've completed works on extensions/refurbishments of listed properties across Cheshire and beyond.

Many private clients are unaware of the potential complexities of obtaining approval for carrying out works to their listed houses, or those that exist in Conservation Areas. Such complexities involve careful negotiations with not just the Local Authority Planning Department, but also their Conservation Officers and often, for Grade I and Grade II* properties, the involvement of Historic England.

Undertaking a sensitive approach has enabled NJG Designs to secure some notable approvals on a variety of projects - from modest matching period extensions, to large scale contemporary extensions. I can coordinate specialist Heritage Consultants and archaeologists to provide detailed assessments of historic buildings if needed. This allows me to gain approval for ambitious, yet sympathetic alterations to properties of historic interest.
